After reaching Arusha, check into your included budget hotel and relax after the flight. Depending on the hotel surroundings and your arrival time, you may observe garden birds around the property. Dinner will be served according to the confirmed arrangement. Your guide will provide a briefing about birding habitats, the morning departure, weather, meals and park procedures. Prepare your binoculars, camera, notebook, field guide and neutral-coloured clothing for the following day.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and travel toward Lake Manyara National Park. Begin your birdwatching drive in the groundwater forest, listening and looking for species among dense vegetation while also watching for baboons, blue monkeys and elephants. Continue toward acacia woodland, open floodplains, the hippo pool and the seasonal lake environment. These habitats may provide sightings of raptors, water-associated birds, woodland species and open-country birds. The exact species depend on the season, water level, weather and natural movement. Your guide will stop where practical for identification, observation and photography. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing the afternoon birding experience. Later, leave the park and proceed to your selected budget safari lodge or camp near Karatu or Ngorongoro.

Enjoy an early breakfast before travelling toward Ngorongoro Crater. Descend from the rim and explore open grasslands, marshes, freshwater environments and woodland habitats. Depending on seasonal conditions, you may observe raptors, waterbirds, grassland species and birds associated with grazing mammals. Flamingos may sometimes occur in suitable shallow-water areas, although their presence varies. The crater also supports lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, wildebeests, zebras and hyenas. Your guide will balance birdwatching and general wildlife viewing according to your interests. Enjoy a picnic lunch at an authorized site before continuing the afternoon drive. Later, ascend from the crater and return to the included post-safari budget hotel in Arusha.
